Special prizes 2011

Special Prize - Programmes that effect social change

The Special Prize “Programmes that effect social change” is dedicated to television programmes (documentaries, docu-dramas, dramas), dealing with economic, social, political and cultural realities in emergency situations (such as war, famine, natural catastrophes, ethnic-religious intolerance, repression etc.) in a perspective of sustainable development. The prize is sponsored by Compagnia di San Paolo.

Special Prize - Cup of the President of the Italian Republic

In 2011 the Prix Italia will award a prize offered by the President of the Italian Republic. This prestigious award, a silver cup, will be awarded to a radio programme competing in the official categories of the Prix, that has dealt with highly topical interests.

Special Prize for the best multimedia section of newspapers, magazines and press agencies

Information has evolved worldwide due to the convergence of press, radio, television, personal computers, smartphones and new networking and multimedia devices. Prix Italia, that in the past sixty years has awarded media excellence in radio, television and web, now will valorise innovation and creativity even in the new post-convergence scenario. To serve this purpose a “Special Prize” is being established. It is reserved to newspapers, magazines and news agencies

Students’ Prize

As in the past edition, the University of Turin, Studies in Communication Sciences, will co-operate with Prix Italia. Two juries, made up of students and coordinated by their Professors, will work on the tv drama and documentary categories. Besides the official competition they will award two prizes each

Special Prize - Signis

SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication that brings together organizations representing 140 countries, will assign its special prize also in 2011, to the television programme in competition that better contributes to the promotion of human values.
