LOCATION

FROM THE 14th TO THE 20th OF SEPTEMBER PRIX ITALIA LANDS AT THE PORT OF CAGLIARI AT THE ICHNUSA CRUISING TERMINAL QUAY.

The “Ichnusa Cruising Terminal Quay” was terminated in 2007. It is situated in the historic area of the Port of Cagliari at only 100 metres from the city centre, within walking distance from the railway station, and nearby the road network. This important structure is mainly destined to holiday cruisers, but it also offers spaces for events, exhibitions, and social services of primary interest of the city of Cagliari.

The architectural framework, in accordance with the original project, consists of three principal elements, that joined together, contribute to the formation of an integrated and functional organization:

• A large and covered multipurpose area, around which, five building sections of the Cruising Terminal are positioned.

• A state-of-art covering that provides protection to all the spaces of the building, built in steel structure, set up with poles and cables, which resemble masts of sailing yachts, hence producing a striking architectonic and visual effect.

• The authentic edifice is organized into five built-in sections of two storeys, comprising of rooms, spaces and services supplied for the various functions of the Port.
